Viridian
Secures Second Round of Grant Funding
May 9th 2005,
Cambridge, UK. Viridian announces that it has won grant funding from
The Carbon Trust of £214,000. The grant is to be used to prove
out Viridian's low-cost solar heating technology over the next 24 months.
Martin Davies, Chairman of Viridian, said "This
takes the total of government funding secured for the solar thermal
project to nearly three hundred thousand pounds. While the investment
itself is extremely helpful, the fact that the project was selected
by the Carbon Trust's rigorous assessment procedures is also extremely
encouraging."
The Carbon Trust comments: “We are pleased
to be able to support this young company in developing a new solar thermal
system that has the potential to both save energy and reduce the cost
of installation and production. As with all projects that win support
through the Carbon Trust’s highly competitive selection process,
this project has an attractive environmental case combined with the
potential to develop an attractive commercial case.”
