Viridian Welcomes McCarthy and Stone to the Solar Partnership

February 10th 2004, Cambridge UK. Viridian announces that McCarthy and Stone has joined its Solar Partnership. As a member, it will participate in the definition and design of a new kind of solar hot water system, one that aims to overcome the disadvantages of current solar water heating technologies that have prevented their wider adoption.

McCarthy and Stone is the leading developer of private retirement housing in the United Kingdom.

Martin Davies, Chairman of Viridian commented: "Viridian is delighted to be working with McCarthy and Stone. With their help we aim to develop a system that will reduce the energy costs for their customers while remaining convenient to fit and use. The partnership now represents a group that builds around 5,750 new houses every year."

Viridian is seeking up to 10 forward-looking organisations from the building industry to join the partnership.
